Multifiber
Manufacturing
Invented in 1940 by Werner Klaas, Testfabrics’ multifiber fabrics remain the global benchmark for textile colorfastness testing. Woven with six distinct fiber bands, it provides labs with a single, standardized tool to evaluate dye transfer, staining, and performance across multiple fibers at once.
Trusted by AATCC, ISO, ASTM, and leading labs in more than 40 countries, multifiber fabric continues to anchor global quality assurance programs. Its design – wider, clearly differentiated fiber stripes – solved a decades old testing challenge and has supported generations of chemists, dyers, and colorists worldwide.
Unlike most suppliers, Testfabrics weaves multifiber fabrics in our own Pennsylvania mill, maintaining the original American standard while adapting to evolving fibers and industry needs. Each lot is produced with consistency and precision, ensuring reliable results across every test.
More than eight decades later, multifiber fabrics embody Werner’s vision: reliable, innovative test materials that empower industries to solve problems, set standards, and innovate with confidence.
