When the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) planned to exhibit The Swimming Pool by Henri Matisse, they needed to recreate the immersive experience of his cut-outs mounted on burlap that he achieved in the dining room of his suite at the Hôtel Régina in Nice (1952).
MoMA turned to Testfabrics for help. We sourced a comparable burlap and dyed it to match, enabling the museum to faithfully reimagine Matisse’s original vision for the installation.
