$282.75 / Block
AATCC Crock Block for carpet testing and floor coverings testing. The rubbing finger for pile fabrics and textile floor coverings (carpets, but not rugs) is a rubbing finger with a rectangular rubbing surface with the lead edge rounded, measuring 19mm × 25.4mm, known as the crock block. Made with acrylic plastic. The dimensions of the rectangular acrylic rubbing surface is approximately 19.0mm x 25.4mm(0.75” x 1”).The rubbing block projects downward from the weighted arm of the crockmeter machine.
Description
The crockmeter machine provides a reciprocating rubbing motion simulating the action of a human finger and forearm. The crock block has a rectangular rubbing surface with the dimensions of 19.0mm x 25.4mm, that moves back and forth in a straight line along a straight path of 100mm long, with a downward force of 9N (Newtons) 9 ± 0.9 N (2 ± 0.2 lb). The crock block must be mounted in one direction only; a cutout in the side of the stem receives the screw that holds it in the reciprocating arm. The rectangular slip on sleeve that comes with crock block can be used to mount the crock cloth with ease and speed while the crock block is still attached to the weighted arm of the crockmeter.
Crocking is the undesirable property of a dyed cloth by which the coloring matter rubs off the fabric and smudges or soils other materials with which it comes into contact. This fault is usually traceable to imperfect dyeing, either in regard to the method employed or the inadaptability of the dyestuff.
